Benefits
SAFE-GARD is applied to the glass in your factory prior to the window unit assembly, forming a secure bond between the glass and frame. Pioneered and developed by Solamatrix, this process, known as dry lamination, helps to prevent broken glass shards from flying out of the frame, reducing the risk of personal injury, unwanted entry and property damage or loss.
SAFE-GARD has been independently tested for impact resistance and meets the rigid standards of the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) 1201, Category II and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z97.1 (Unlimited) as well as the Dade County Florida Small Missile Impact Test and the Building Official Code Association (BOCA). SAFE-GARD also complies with many international tests standards including the British Standards 6206 and 476, DIN A1 and DIN A3.
Along with the impressive safety and security features, SAFE-GARD can also provide your customers with protection from the sun's damaging effects.
Some SAFE-GARD films can reject up to 35% of the sun's heat, reducing cooling bills. And by blocking out virtually all of the sun's UV rays and reducing the incoming sun's heat, interior furnishings, carpets, floors and valuable photographs will be protected against fading.
The strong, thin, lightweight SAFE-GARD material is unique from any other type of safety glazing compound. It is designed to be laminated inside insulated glass units without interrupting the integrity or durability of the seal. It is applied to the glass before the windows are made, thereby forming a bond with the glass and reducing the possibility of the glass coming out of the frame in the event of an impact. It can be incorporated into all types of residential and commercial window applications.
The SAFE-GARD system includes a film-to-glass laminating machine, backed by a manufacturer's warranty, in a portable clean room. As a SAFE-GARD customer, you will receive startup technical advice and support to make sure your SAFE-GARD process meets the highest standards for quality.
